Early Life and Background

Francisco Lachowski, affectionately known as "Chico," was born on May 13, 1991, in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. He is the youngest child of Roberto Lachowski, of Polish descent, and Maria Lachowski, who has Portuguese and German ancestry. Francisco has two older sisters, Isabella and Marcela. He spent his early years in Foz do Iguaçu before returning to Curitiba with his family. During his youth, Francisco aspired to become a professional tennis player, showcasing his athleticism and dedication to sports. However, his path shifted towards modeling when, at the age of 17, he participated in a fashion show organized by his cousin, a fashion design student. This experience led to his discovery by modeling agents, setting the stage for his future career. ​

Modeling Career

Francisco's modeling career took off in 2008 when he won the Ford Men's Supermodel of the World contest in São Paulo. This victory earned him a contract with Ford Models, propelling him onto the international fashion scene. He has since walked the runway for prestigious fashion houses, including Dior Homme, Balmain, Gucci, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, DSquared², Roberto Cavalli, Thierry Mugler, and Armani. His striking features and charismatic presence have made him a favorite in the industry. ​

Francisco has been featured in campaigns for major brands such as DKNY, Lacoste, Armani Exchange, Etro, Dior, Mavi Jeans, Balmain, and Tommy Hilfiger. In recognition of his impact on the fashion industry, Francisco was awarded "Model of the Year: Men (Reader's Choice)" by models.com in 2016. He also appeared in Kanye West's music video "Wolves" that same year. In 2018, he was honored with the "Top Model" award in GQ Portugal's "Men of the Year" issue. 

Personal Life

Francisco met French-Canadian model Jessiann Gravel Beland in 2010, and the couple married in December 2013. They have two sons: Milo, born in March 2013, and Laslo, born in November 2016. The family resides in New York City. In March 2019, they published a portrait book in collaboration with photographer Ricardo Gomes, offering an intimate glimpse into their family life. ​

Beyond modeling, Francisco maintains a passion for tennis, a sport he has loved since childhood. He continues to play recreationally and has been spotted at major tennis tournaments, reflecting his enduring connection to the game. ​
